NOVEMBER’S COSMIC WEATHER REPORT FROM CATIE CADGE

By Catie Cadge

Welcome to the Santa Cruz Cosmic Weather Report – Evolutionary Astrology of the moment, your moment in time, our collective moment of change!

Early November is Scorpio season, a time for regeneration. I love the Japanese expression, mono no aware, the fleetingness of life. Leaves change and fall, everything eventually fades, all passes away so life can be reborn. The veil grows thin now and we sense the spirits and ghosts that roam about us. Happy ‘El Dia De Los Muertos’ –Day of the Dead!

We have a Full Moon on Halloween, early morning, 7:49 am in Taurus 8˚38’. The Moon will tightly conjunct Uranus. There may be some sudden upsets. Best to see this time as a reconnection to what we really need to feel secure, stable, and at peace with ourselves and our world. Inspiration may come in a flash, like satori, sudden enlightenment. We may also have some arguments. Try not to be too stubborn, stuck in what you believe others should do or how they should think. In fact, forget the word “should” and turn inward instead. What inner psychological forces make me react under this Full Moon?

The morning of November 1st, Mercury, moving retrograde in Libra, forms a square with Saturn in Capricorn, while Venus in early Libra opposes Chiron, the wounded healer, in Aries. The start of the month features ongoing themes of how we can best bring a sense of calm into our lives under the stress of such difficult times, under the fears surrounding the election, the ongoing Covid crisis, and how we can rebuild our lives after such a devastating summer for our Santa Cruz Mountain community. Mercury slows down and turns direct on November 3rd  and the planet is particularly strong at this time, just as it again forms a square to Saturn, the square is exact on November 6th. There is a lot to negotiate and discuss with others–what truly makes us heal and find beauty and serenity when the world is so chaotic?

Mid-month, for the third time this year, Jupiter, planet of expansion and growth, conjuncts Pluto, god of the underworld, on November 12th at 22˚52’ Capricorn. This is a repeat of a major conjunction that occurred twice last spring, on April 4th, then again June 29th.  Expect some power struggles and possibly more surges in Covid-19. On a personal level, look to see where 20˚ to 26˚of Capricorn fall in your own birthchart. The house of the conjunction and the aspects it makes will give you insight into what areas of your life are being called into question, where perhaps you have outgrown your current patterns, and where life may need to be transformed.

At 23˚18’ Scorpio, 9:07 PM, November 14th, a powerful New Moon occurs. We might consciously set intentions to dig deep, turn inward and face the shadow work we all carry this month. What trust issues do we have? Who pushes our buttons and why? It is a time to seek wholeness; an opportunity to face the parts of us we hide below the surface. Moon and Sun in Scorpio create a sextile, a 60˚ aspect, to the Jupiter and Pluto conjunction, along with Pallas Athena at 23˚Capricorn, so doing the inner work will allow us to tap into the Divine feminine wisdom Pallas Athena brings to the table.

Venus at 22˚Libra opposes Eris, planet of discord, while forming a square to Jupiter and Pluto at the time of the New Moon, so we will hear temper tantrums, fights for power and post-election battles of ego run amok all in the mix. I suggest we take this New Moon to again claim what we, ourselves, need to process. A sextile carries potential, but takes initiative to put it into action. Now is the time to bring darkness into the light and transform our own inner shadows so to empower ourselves to become better agents for change in the post-Covid world we are building.

End of November ushers in eclipse season and in December, the Jupiter / Saturn conjunction will occur at 0˚ 29’Aquarius on Winter Solstice! See you in the Holiday Season for some exciting astrology news in the months ahead!
