Aggie’s Hand-Sewn Face Coverings Add a Splash of Color to Anti-Coronavirus Couture
Agz Rags in downtown Boulder Creek is closed due to the social response to COVID-19 concerns, but Agz Rags Face Covers are in full production. Aggie has been sewing masks using preshrunk cotton fabrics with a cotton muslin inside sleeve since early April and has recently streamlined her online presence to make it easier for the community to obtain necessary protection during the health crisis.
Aggie has owned and operated Agz Rags in downtown Boulder Creek since 2009, selling and sewing costumes for all occasions. It makes perfect sense that she would turn her talents to making protective face coverings during the shelter-in-place.
Handmade Masks in a Variety of Fabrics from Agz Rags in Boulder Creek
Aggie has been donating her masks to local seniors and other groups, and is selling them affordably to individuals as a means to stay afloat while the store is closed to in-person shopping. “I have decided not to do the competitive market thing on Etsy, where the style of mask I am making goes anywhere from 7 to 30 dollars,” she says.
“If you know a Boulder Creek senior in need of masks, please e-mail me! at AgzRagz@att.net and let’s get them covered!”
Pulling from an impressive stockpile of collected fabrics, Aggie’s masks come in several sizes and are all machine washable. Send email to AgzRagz@att.net to choose prints and to arrange pick-up in the garden space next to the shop. “I’ll be masked!..and gloved…and 6 feet away!”
“I have set up PayPal for AgzRagz@att.net where you can also donate to the store. For every gift of $5 to help keep the store in business, we will give you a thank you mask of your choice. Shipping via USPS is also available. Stay safe! We shall get through this!”
