St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church Celebrates 125 Years
St. Andrew’s in Ben Lomond is kicking off its 125th anniversary celebration year – and the community is invited to be part of it.
Dedicated in 1901, St. Andrew’s is believed to be the oldest church in the San Lorenzo Valley in continuous service under the same denomination, and this milestone year will be marked with a series of special events open to all, including a multi-church service, a musical event, a historical presentation, and a community block party with local dignitaries. Details will be announced as the year unfolds.
The celebration year gets underway this Sunday, March 15, with a visit from the Right Reverend Lucinda Ashby, Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of El Camino Real. Bishop Ashby will lead the morning service, which includes a confirmation ceremony for several members of the congregation. A community lunch and open discussion with the Bishop will follow the service. All are welcome – worship begins at 10 am.
St. Andrew’s describes itself as a welcoming and affirming community that respects the dignity and individual journeys of all people.
The church is located at the corner of Glen Arbor and Riverside Avenue in Ben Lomond. For more information, visit www.saintandrewsbenlomond.org
