Highway 9 Traffic Alert – Week of June 22-26
Drivers on Highway 9 should expect delays at several locations this week due to ongoing construction. Plan ahead and allow extra travel time.
What’s Happening and Where
Bridge Replacements – North of Boulder Creek (24/7 Impacts)
Two bridges are being fully replaced for safety. Temporary traffic signals are controlling one-lane, alternating traffic around the clock at both locations:
- King’s Creek Bridge – near post mile 15.41 to 15.55
- San Lorenzo River Bridge – near post mile 13.58 to 13.69
Expect delays at any time of day.
Felton Pedestrian Safety Project – South of Graham Hill Road
A new sidewalk and bike shoulder are being built on southbound Hwy. 9 between San Lorenzo Valley Schools and downtown Felton.
One-lane alternating traffic control will be in effect overnight (8 PM – 6 AM) on:
- Tuesday, June 24
- Wednesday, June 25
- Thursday, June 26
(near post mile 6.35 to 6.60)
Drainage & Erosion Repairs – Brookdale to Hwy. 236 Junction (24/7 Impacts)
Work to upgrade drainage systems is underway. A temporary traffic signal controls one-lane, alternating traffic around the clock in this area through late September.
The signal is active between roughly 0.21 miles north of Clear Creek Road/Pacific Street and 0.32 miles south of Irwin Way (near post mile 11.66).
Utility Work & Tree Trimming – Specific Dates
Brief one-lane closures are also scheduled for utility and tree-trimming work:
- Monday, June 23 – Post mile 16.3 to 16.46 | Noon to 3 PM
- Tuesday, June 24 – Post mile 0.05 | 8 PM to 6 AM
- Thursday, June 26 – Post mile 0.95 to 1.25 | 9 AM to 3 PM
