1/28 ADU Code Update Community Meeting
The County of Santa Cruz Planning Department is hosting an online ADU Accessory Dwelling Unit meeting on Thursday, January 28 at 6:00 pm. The county updated their local ADU regulations in 2020 in response to new state laws. County officials now seek to streamline the approval process with additional regulations.

WHAT: Community meeting to discuss Santa Cruz County ADU regulations

HOW: There are two ways to participate:

WHY: New state laws regarding ADUs went into effect January 1, 2020. Santa Cruz County updated local ADU regulations in Spring 2020 with the purpose of implementing those state laws. In 2021, the County is considering several additional updates to our local ADU regulations in order to further simplify and streamline ADU project approval, and to align with the ADU Handbook released by the California Office of Housing and Community Development (HCD) in September 2020: https://www.hcd.ca.gov/policy-research/docs/adu-ta-handbook-final.pdf.
This meeting will be open to the general public but we are particularly reaching out to YOU as a development professional or member of our ADU mailing list to make sure that you are aware of this upcoming opportunity to provide input regarding Santa Cruz County’s ADU regulations.
