May 22: Youth Symphony Spring Concert

The Santa Cruz County Youth Symphony will host its final concert of the season on Sunday, May 22 at Samper Recital Hall at Cabrillo College.
17-year-old Scotts Valley resident Hannah Kuo is the troupe’s featured soloist and winner of the 2021 Concerto Competition. Hannah will perform Mozart’s Violin Concerto No. 5 in A major, 1st movement.

The Santa Cruz County Youth Symphony originated as a summer music program founded by Norman Masonson, James Eachus, Ken Larson, Hayden Dryden, and Craig Johnson. The troupe launched its first full season in 1966/1967. It is the county’s only pre-professional youth orchestra. The musicians perform classical symphonic, modern classical, and commissioned pieces and many have found success in professional music careers.
