10th Annual Santa Cruz Mountains Steampunk Picnic
Celebrating its 10th year, the Steampunk Picnic, the brainchild of Felton resident Brigit Zent, takes place on Saturday, October 3, 2026 at Quail Hollow Ranch County Park in Felton from 1-5pm. The group of friends and neighbors takes the costume party on the road to a different location each year. Noting that the first picnic was at Roaring Camp in 2016, Brigit said, “In addition to our picnicking, we’ll have a steampunk inspired game or two, a costume contest with a prize for the winner, and of course, the ever-popular Tea Dueling!”
The theme this year is “Natural Science, Steampunk Style!” Though you need not dress for the theme, it is encouraged — and makes things more fun, Brigit said. Not sure what to wear? Brigit suggests searching for “steampunk style” in your favorite search engine. Think “retro-futuristic aesthetics that blend 19th-century Victorian elegance with industrial, steam-powered technology.”
Bring something to eat or share, and meet the revelers in the Quail Hollow Ranch parking lot. They will likely be standing out from the crowd!
