SLV Middle School Student Reflects on Drama Class with Will Guilford
Mr. Guilford had an amazing technique of teaching. He made drama class feel like home. Some of my favorite activities were short skits and, obviously, the plays!
My peers and I are very upset that Mr. Guilford had to retire. His class not only taught us about theatre, but how to grow stronger bonds, treat people with high respect, and to just keep going.
Personally, Mr. Guilford helped me with my self-confidence. Before doing theatre with him, I would have never been able to get up on stage like that!
Encouraging words he always used were “you can do it,” and while this became a joke on the Quote Bingo our class made, it really did help us know to keep going.
After all those years, I think that Mr. Guilford should be appreciated and known all across Santa Cruz County for his amazing plays and the impact he had on his students!
