Highway 9 Traffic Delays Expected March 30 to Apr 3
Travelers on Highway 9 should plan for delays during the week of March 30, as Caltrans crews will be conducting construction and maintenance work at several locations between north of Boulder Creek to south of Felton on Highway 9.
Work zones will operate with daytime one-way reversing traffic control Monday through Friday, though no delays are expected Tuesday, March 31, in observance of a state holiday.
The following locations will be affected:
Between McGaffigan Mill Road and Saratoga Toll Road (Post Mile 18.86–18.97): Drainage system upgrades will restrict traffic from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
King’s Creek Bridge (Post Mile 15.41–15.55): Bridge replacement work will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
San Lorenzo River Bridge (Post Mile 13.58–13.69): Bridge replacement work will also run from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Between Cascade Avenue and Irwin Way (Post Mile 11.66): Drainage system upgrades will affect traffic from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Caltrans says a temporary traffic signal will be installed at this location in the coming weeks, establishing around-the-clock traffic control.
North of Graham Hill Road (Post Mile 6.5–7.5): Utility tree trimming will slow traffic from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Paradise Park (Post Mile 1.25): Additional utility tree trimming is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Caltrans says message and directional signs will alert drivers ahead of each work zone. Motorists are encouraged to allow extra travel time.
