Highway 9 Traffic Advisories Week of April 6

Drivers on Highway 9 should expect daytime one-way reversing traffic control at several locations Monday through Friday, April 6 through 10. Here’s what’s happening and where:


Active Construction Projects

Bridge Replacements North of Boulder Creek

Two bridges are being fully replaced for public safety as part of the Highway 9 San Lorenzo River and Kings Creek Bridge Replacement Project.

Affected locations:

  • Kings Creek Bridge — Post Mile 15.41 to 15.55
  • San Lorenzo River Bridge — Post Mile 13.58 to 13.69

Traffic control hours: Saturday, April 4 and Monday–Friday, 7 a.m.–5 p.m. A temporary signal providing 24/7 traffic control will be installed at these locations in the coming weeks.


Drainage and Erosion Control Work near Brookdale

The Highway 9 Upper Drainage and Erosion Control Improvements Project is upgrading key drainage systems along the corridor, including culvert replacement, paving, and erosion control enhancements. Work runs between Brookdale and the Highway 236 junction.

Affected location: Between Cascade Ave. and Irwin Way near Brookdale — Post Mile 11.66

Traffic control hours: Saturday, April 4 and Monday–Friday, 9 a.m.–4 p.m. A temporary signal providing 24/7 traffic control will be installed at this location in the coming weeks.


Overnight Work in Felton

The Highway 9 Felton Pedestrian Safety Improvements Project is building a sidewalk and bikeable shoulder on the southbound side of Highway 9 between San Lorenzo Valley Schools and downtown Felton.

Affected location: North of Graham Hill Road — Post Mile 6.5

Traffic control hours: 8 p.m.–5 a.m. (overnight only, for utility relocation)
