Ladies of the Loch

On March 1, a wonderful local tradition returned to the hills above Felton. Rachelle Best gathered a spirited group of women from the community for the annual “Ladies of the Loch” opening day hike at Loch Lomond — and this year’s turnout was the biggest yet.

According to Rachelle, “We hiked from West Drive down to the waters edge and back with a crew of mountain women, kiddos, and dogs. Almost 3 miles and over 500 feet of elevation gain. Our group has become known by the neighbors and rangers I love gathering our community, we need each other out here in the mountains, and it’s more fun together! Women joined from Lompico, Ben Lomond and Boulder Creek. We enjoyed brunch at our home after.”
