The Brookdale Lodge invites the community to celebrate Mother’s Day with the sweet world sounds of Elie Mabanza and Mokili Wa on Sunday, May 14 from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm.
Mokili Wa, meaning “world, listen,” is a supergroup composed of artists from Africa and the Bay Area who create a fusion of music styles into one unique sound.
“The band was formed organically in 2019, with each of us pulled close by the gravity of Elie’s sound and spirit. His unique musical understanding and warm-heartedness guided us into our community which came to be known as Mokili Wa.”
