SLV Drama Presents Chicago: High School Edition

San Lorenzo Valley High School presents “Chicago: High School Edition,” with book by Bob Fosse and Fred Ebb, music by John Kander, and lyrics by Fred Ebb. Our amazing cast of over 45 performers, guided by Will Guilford (Director), Nicki Kerns (Music Director), and Whitney James-Heskett (Choreographer), bring to life favorites such as “Roxie,” “The Cell Block Tango,” and of course “All That Jazz”. “Chicago: High School Edition” is presented at the San Lorenzo Valley Performing Arts Center March 6-15, 2020. Performances are Friday and Saturday at 7:00 p.m., with Sunday matinees at 2:00 p.m. There is a special Community Night performance on Thursday, March 12. Seating is reserved. Advisory: Theatrical smoke and flashing lights are used in the show. Theme of the show may not be suitable for all age groups.

Set against the backdrop of Prohibition and speakeasies, nightclub sensation Velma Kelly murders her philandering husband, and Chicago’s slickest lawyer, Billy Flynn, is set to defend her. But when Roxie Hart also winds up in prison, Billy takes on her case as well — turning her into a media circus of headlines. Neither women will be outdone in their fight against each other and the public for fame and celebrity.
