July 30 at 3pm No Cover\n\nDon’t miss the much-awaited return to Hallcrest of local artist Anthony Arya along with one of his favorite collaborators\, Casey Wickstrom.\n\nAnthony Arya is a roots rock performing and recording artist from Santa Cruz\, California. At age 15 he was on Season 15 of NBC’s The Voice and shortly after released his debut album\, Going To California. His second album The Road\, released in Spring 2020\, encompasses the Beat-Dylan American traditions of love\, socio-political awareness\, and the open road. His latest release\, Circles & the Flames is receiving airplay nationwide and has earned him awards from the International Song Competition\, Bluebird Cafe Taylor Golden Pick Contest as well as the Telluride Blues and Brews Blues Challenge. Anthony performs weekly around the San Francisco Bay Area both solo and with the Anthony Arya Band. In summer 2022\, the Anthony Arya band performed on the main stage of Santa Cruz’s well known festivals – Redwood Mountain Faire\, Santa Cruz Mountain Jam and Capitola Art and Wine.\n\nCasey Wickstrom is a multi-instrumentalist looping artist from San Jose\, CA. He sings and plays guitar\, lap slide\, three string slide cigar box guitar\, bass\, and other instruments. His latest single “Eminence Front” charted on Apple Music Blues charts\, and he has been named one of the Top 100 Unsigned Artists by Music Connection Magazine. Casey Wickstrom was born in Mountain View\, California\, but grew up in the small isolated mountain town of Durango\, Colorado. It was here that he began writing and playing music\, inspired by artists like Paul Simon and Ben Harper. DESCRIPTION:Enjoy free world-class jazz in Boulder Creek featuring pianist Robert Jackson\, vocalist Armelle Delaney\, saxophonist Skyler Shipp\, and cellist Renata Bratt. Two dates at Historic Boulder Creek Methodist\, Sunday\, July 30 at 7:00 pm.\n\nThe ensemble will be playing American Songbook standards from the 1930s-1960s as well as a few originals. Pianist Robert Jackson and vocalist Armelle Delaney are amazing area locals with world class talent. Brian Fitzgerald educator and event coordinator at Kuumbwa Jazz Center joins the group. This is also an opportunity to hear Concertino Strings co-director Renata Bratt\, excellent composer\, arranger and jazz player\, on the cello. Skyler Shipp\, talented young local saxophonist now studying in Nashville TN\, is also part of the evening’s music.\n\nFree. Donations are accepted.
